Mould Investigations

AQMSL provides professional mould investigation services to help determine whether mould may be present, understand the conditions contributing to its growth, and assess the extent of impact within the indoor environment. Our work is focused on understanding the conditions within the building that may contribute to mould concerns, rather than relying on surface appearance alone.

Suspect You May Have Mould Indoors?

Are you experiencing one or more of these signs?

  • Persistent musty or earthy odours, even after cleaning

  • Visible staining, discolouration or suspected mould growth on walls, ceilings, floors or furnishings

  • Evidence of water intrusion, leaks, condensation or recurring dampness

  • Concerns about possible mould in concealed areas such as wall cavities or above ceilings

  • Indoor conditions or occupant complaints that appear to worsen within a particular area

These signs do not always confirm a mould problem, but they may indicate that further investigation is warranted. A professional mould investigation can help identify the source, extent and conditions contributing to the issue.

Hidden or Concealed Mould

Mould indoors does not always appear in obvious ways. In some cases, it is clearly visible on surfaces or accompanied by persistent musty or earthy odours. In other situations, mould may be hidden behind surfaces such as drywall, beneath carpets, above ceilings, or within other building cavities.

Concealed spaces can retain moisture for extended periods, particularly where porous materials are affected by leaks, condensation or persistently humid conditions. Because these areas are often poorly ventilated and not readily visible, mould growth may develop and spread without obvious signs at the occupied surface.
